Harrison Ford Suddenly Appears With a Gun (Again) in the Blade Runner 2049 Trailer

It’s impossible for me to not think about Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Harrison Ford picks up his role as Rick Deckard in the first Blade Runner 2049 trailer.

I’ve blacked out Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, did he show up exactly like this there too? I digress. This is a good, simple trailer that doesn’t give too much away so if you were looking to get a taste of the film but not really be spoiled for anything, this is the one to watch. Here’s the synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

The film also stars Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto. What do you think, kids?

Very cautiously optimistic about this one. Sequels done decades after original are a crap-shoot at best, and I can’t help but wonder if this was cynically done to kick off another franchise.

  2. I hope this is good! I’m excited for it but from this teaser alone it’s hard to tell how good it’ll be.
