Wicked King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Trailer, Brah

Warner Bros. and Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword has an official trailer and it’s peculiar. Maybe because they paired the medieval footage with Led Zeppelin?

The song is “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” which, if you want to pretend this is some sort of lost love affair between Charlie Hunnam’s Arthur and Jude Law’s Vortigern, maybe we can work with. Otherwise, kewl trailer, guys.

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Starring with Hunnam (FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”) and Oscar nominee Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”) are Astrid Bergès-Frisbey (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) as Mage; Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “In America”) as Bedivere; Aidan Gillen (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”) as Goosefat Bill; and Eric Bana (“Star Trek”) as Arthur’s father, King Uther Pendragon.

I enjoy a good King Arthur story but I’m not sure about this one yet. However, I did just find out Supergirl’s own Lena Luthor, Katie McGrath, has a role so that’s something. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword hits theaters May 12, 2017.

Did they bump it??? Last I heard it was May 12.

And I don’t care about any of your cynicism Jill, I didn’t know I NEEDED a bonkers Guy Ritchie King Arthur movie until I saw these trailers.

    Just BONKERS

  2. I’m looking forward to it. I mean, hey, it’s GOTTA be better than First Knight. If so I’ll probably like it. Especially if Guy keeps it loose like the Sherlock films. Doesn’t take it too seriously.

Yeah, I want this to be good but the trailers haven’t sold me. Although if they’ve recast Katie McGrath in her old Merlin role of Morgana, I will totally be seeing this one.
