American Gods Altar: “Lemon Scented You”

Neil Gaiman’s American Gods is now five episodes in on Starz. Come discuss “Lemon Scented You” and let us know what you think of the show so far!

I haven’t commented on it yet but last week’s episode focusing on Emily Browning’s Laura Moon was a really interesting one. Many have already stated how little development she’s given in the book and “Git Gone” was a definite improvement on that. Browning also got to shine this week along with Pablo Schreiber. Who knew Laura and Mad Sweeney had, well, a type of chemistry? But of course in another part of the United States Mr. World, Media, and Technical Boy were trying to “make nice” with Mr. Wednesday and Shadow. It…didn’t go well and Shadow’s extra freaked out now.

Gillian Anderson shared some of her experience on Twitter:

And some trivia from Bryan Fuller:

How’s the show sitting with you so far? What did you think of “Lemon Scented You?”

WHY DOES BRYAN FULLER TWEET EXCLUSIVELY IN ALL CAPS

  2. Episode 4 and 5 have COMPLETELY turned me around on this series. I still think Shadow is a pancake without syrup, but everything around him is intense and vibrant and interesting.

I need a full show of Gillian Anderson as Media. She’s the single most believable as a classical-style goddess (mostly because it’s GA, c’mon. Her divinity is certainly not in question here)
