We’ve Got Our First Adorable Look & Synopsis For The Supergirl/Flash Crossover Episode
Practically screaming over how adorable this promotional image is for the big Supergirl/Flash crossover coming to CBS.
As Comic Book Resources pointed out, the promo image is a take on the famous Superman #199 cover by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson.
The episode, titled “World’s Finest” will be a team-up on both sides. While Grant Gustin’s Flash/Barry Allen will appear on CBS from an “alternate universe” and meet Melissa Benoists’ Supergirl, they’ll have to battle Italia Ricci’s Silver Banshee [Editor’s Note: I spoke about her briefly with director Lexi Alexander recently!] and Brit Morgan’s Livewire.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Worlds Finest” – Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, March 28 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network. Grant Gustin crosses over as The Flash.
There’s no word yet on whether or not anyone else from The CW’s The Flash will appear or if they’ll make any mention of Barry’s big trip on their show. If you’re caught up with The Flash you know they’ve been dealing with Earth 2 for a while but a recent trip there revealed other DC Comics easter eggs including a brief look at Supergirl. This came just after the official crossover announcement. It will be interesting to see Supergirl’s response to alternate worlds considering her purview has been mostly National City.
The episode will air on CBS on March 28.
Has Supergirl been renewed for season 2 yet?
Not yet, no. There was a story last week that it did get renewed because the CBS president said it was likely or something to that effect, but that’s all we’ve had so far. I think chances are good!
I really, really, really hope they race around the world.
Love me some Brit Morgan Livewire; now if they could just cast Natalie Morales as an equally cool partner in crime….
I’ll never cease to find it amazing that DC’s television offerings somehow manage to pull off the optimism found in Supergirl and Flash, that the movies steadfastly refuse to provide. Even the shows themselves demonstrate that optimism doesn’t automatically mean naivete.
If they’re introducing the multiverse on Supergirl, does that mean we might get Power Girl in a future episode?
This means that the city with the masks, that Supergirl was talking about, was Gotham.
So… who’s already shipping Kara and Barry?
Nope, it’s Livewire and Killer Frost.
For a second I thought you were saying Killer Frost will cross over as well, but it looks like they’ll be fighting Banshee and Livewire together.
