My Best of 2025

A block of four images, two are of Iris from the film Companion and two are of me dressed as Iris. One set is normal and the second set includes her bloody look.
My Halloween costume this year was Iris from the film Companion. No, those contacts were NOT easy to wear lol.

Like a lot of folks out there, fiction helped me get through 2025.

As usual, I didn’t consume a lot of media from this year—shockingly, I have not seen the new Frankenstein yet, for instance—but did catch up on a lot. These are the favorite movies, television shows, video games, and books I watched/played/read in 2025. What did you enjoy this year? Leave a comment!

Movies

Genevieve O'Reilly as Star Wars' Mon Mothma. She's giving her big speech in front of the senate from Andor season 2. I added a microphone to the image to make it look like she was doing a mic drop.
Mon Mothma with the mic drop heard around the galaxy: “Emperor Palpatine is a gormless wanker.”

Besides watching a ton of new TV, I also did a few comfort re-watches this year like The Magicians, Orphan Black, and Schitt’s Creek.

  • All of Us Are Dead S1
  • Spartacus

A still from the video game Exit 8. It's a white tiled subway hallway with 6 posters hanging on the left side and 3 doors on the right. There is a business man walking toward you with a briefcase and a single strip of yellow tile going straight down the hall.
Currently obsessed with these “spot the differences” games.

  • The Cabin Factory

A screenshot of a bluesky post of mine where I wrote: Reading a fantasy book where a fae just said "cliff's notes." It features a picture of Maya Erskine's character on a rooftop narrowing her eyes.

Bonus entertainment: I saw Bear McCreary, Nine Inch Nails, and Garbage (Shirley Manson talked to me!) in concert this year, and they were all awesome. I also went to a special 40th anniversary screening of Clue with special guest Lesley Anne Warren and Patti Gonia’s “Save Her” drag show! Both were very fun nights.

I know I don’t blog as much as I used to but I want to thank all of you that still follow and support me. You can find me posting on BlueSky, and you can always look to my LinkTree for official accounts. By the way, I’m currently unemployed—and it is BLEAK out there—so send everyone you know my LinkedIn page! I’ve been working in marketing for the last two years, so I have an even broader skillset than before! :)

Happy New Year, everyone, and be excellent to each other!
