The New Trailer For Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 Is Stunning
Arrival director Denis Villeneuve is tackling Ridley Scott’s future world which Harrison Ford still inhabits. The new Blade Runner 2049 trailer introduces the other beings along for the ride.
The teaser trailer for the sequel didn’t give us a ton to go on, which was good, but this trailer is a feast for the eyes.
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Halt and Catch Fire’s Mackenzie Davis, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista, Lennie James, Hiam Abbass, David Dastmalchian, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Barkhad Abdi, Carla Juri, and Jared Leto. Who knows if it will be any good but it looks damn cool.
Blade Runner 2049 will be in theaters on October 6.
It LOOKS beautiful. But Jared Leto and someone telling Ryan Gosling that she “always knew [he was] special” made the end of that trailer way less exciting than the beginning of it.
I do not…want to concentrate…on Leto…
But, god, why. Everything else looks spiffy, though. And dang pretty! And it feels like the same world!
My reaction to this trailer:
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“OMG!”
“Wait, is that Jared Leto? FUCK!”
“FUCK JARED LETO, FUCK EVERY MOVIE HE’S IN AUGH!”
