Ewan McGregor Puts Forth Spider-Man Tom Holland For His New Jedi Apprentice

Ewan McGregor took to Twitter to answer fan questions this afternoon and of course Star Wars and Obi-Wan Kenobi came up.

Twitter has been in and out today so apologies if this doesn’t load for you. My pals at Nerdist asked the actor who he could see his Obi-Wan teaching in a potential trilogy.

“Who would I cast for my Jedi apprentice for a new trilogy? I’d like to do it with Tom Holland, who I worked with on The Impossible,” he replied. “I think he’d made a good Jedi apprentice, don’t you? When he’s finished with his Spider-Man-ing around.”

Well, we know Holland has some slick moves that could come in handy for Jedi training. I could see it.

Here’s another Star Wars question:

“Lucasfilm people and Disney people are boarded with the Star Wars project way into 2021 or 2022,” said McGregor. “But I’ve always said I’d be up for playing Obi-Wan Kenobi again in a story maybe between the last one I made and the first one that Alec Guinness made. There’s got to be a film in there somewhere I think, don’t you think?”

Um, yes, lots of room for stories there.

I have to admit I was kind of disappointed that he didn’t talk about bears in the second answer.
