Speak, Nerd, and Enter!

I said, hey. What’s going on?

First:

An early heads up for anyone doing holiday shopping soon. I know not everyone likes to use Amazon but if you are going to purchase something there please consider doing so through my affiliate link here. I get a small percentage when folks order through my links and it would be a great way to support me!

Second:

The news reads:

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Brian Michael Bendis exclusively to the DC family with a multiyear, multi-faceted deal. He’s one of the premier writers in the industry having created so many unforgettable stories wherever he’s been and we can’t wait to see what he has planned for the DC Universe.

The Liberty Science Center, where I spent many a day as a youngster, invited me to be a guest at the opening of the traveling Star Trek exhibit, the Starfleet Academy Experience.

This is super cool.

Have you seen Thor: Ragnarok yet? Feel free to discuss in the comments!

Between Bendis coming to DC and the booting of the Superman editor, DC is looking to have some interesting changes

  4. I thought I’d have another Speak, Nerd, and Enter! up before this but it’s been a busy week so dropping this here in case anyone missed my big news!

Oh sweet! Congrats! I thought it was cool when I noticed your comment on that Fantastic Beasts article, but you being part of (or maybe in charge of? I can never get the whole editor seniority thing figured out.) one of the biggest nerdy news sites of all time is just awesome!

43% now that it’s “officially” out. **sigh** …Can they maybe hire Fiege? I’d love to see what he and his team could do for Superman, seeing as they did such an amazing job with Captain America.

So I am officially headed to Chicago on Saturday for that Oracle play! It’ll be my first time in the city, which will be cool. I was thinking it’d be fun to write up a review on my old Oracle discussion board, but it seems Disqus deleted it since I all my links are 404s. :(

In other news, election night at a newspaper is EXHAUSTING. I managed to miss last year’s because I just happened to have that day off, so this was my first experience. The plus is that it’s evidently tradition for the boss to buy pizza for the newsroom, so I got free dinner plus an excuse to wear one of my favorite shirts: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/715aAQwHJTL._UL1500_.jpg (with matching socks: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0205/2636/products/pizza-knee-high-socks-2_1024x1024.jpg?v=1406750764 )

LIBERTY SCIENCE CENTER, WOW. I remember many a school field trip trying to fumble around the touch tunnel!

  9. I’m working from home today, so there’s no one to stop me from being the most Me I can be. See below.

But that Bendis news almost seems as fake as Donald Trump, CEO of America. I don’t know what to make of it! It’s neat, tho.

And the Star Trek event – what’s that like? I missed out on the Star Trek Experience when I lived in Vegas and I’ve never forgiven myself… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/df5a5d3b4fc0d787e5bd132ac497197037d97dc6b098d26067b39003f1438864.png
