Fuzzy Butt Alert: Disney’s New Pete’s Dragon Trailer Is Here
Have I ever mentioned how much I love dragons? Our first teaser gave us a brief look at what Disney’s remake of its 1977 classic Pete’s Dragon, of which I am a BIG fan, but this new trailer has me sold.
No seriously. There is a lot of dragon butt in this trailer.
Directed by David Lowery, the film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Oona Laurence, and Robert Redford. It will debut August 12th.
I’ve been mostly indifferent to this movie; it just feels too different from what I loved about the original, and I’m perfectly content to say it’s just not for me. But that moment when you first see Elliott fly, where he wobbles a little? That completely charmed me. I’m probably still not going to love this movie, but I now have a lot of good will toward it, and I hope it’s fantastic and that lots of kids absolutely love it.
