Introducing Blackest Night HeroClix from WizKids!

The War of the Light comes to HeroClix with the DC HeroClix Blackest Night Starter Game! As the Blackest Night encompasses the world, heroes and villains alike are deputized into the Lantern Corps to fight back against the legions of Black Lanterns. Choose a team of lanterns and take them into battle! This starter game includes everything a player needs to play HeroClix, including figures, map, rules and more.

Earlier this week Newsarama posted the exciting news along with a picture of the Hal Jordan miniature (also awesome) below. They’ve since added shots of Lex Luthor and Scarecrow, both in their newly deputized Lantern Corps uniforms. Wonder Woman, The Atom and the Flash minis should be appearing soon. WizKids has also developed DC HeroClix The Brave and the Bold of which that version’s Flash mini has so far been teased.

The Blackest Night Starter Set is hitting stores May 10, 2010. I’ve never played HeroClix but I’m gonna have to buy these. Not so I can play, just so I can stare. I really like the clear resin portions, especially Mera’s blood. She’s been kicking so much ass in Blackest Night it almost makes me want to do a Red Lantern Mera costume. But there’s no way I’m doing another RL, the first one was a lot of work. Sorry to disappoint.

My only problem with the miniatures are, and I know this is going to sound ridiculous, their size. I know they’re miniatures, hence tiny, but damn these would look so amazing as statues! I’m only buying them to collect and display and they’re totally going to get lost on my shelf. It makes me so angry!! BLAAARGH! Oops, there I go again…
