Thank you, Tilda Swinton, for making the Oscars nerdy!
The Oscars have been labeled many things in the past: boring, lengthy, shallow, self-aggrandizing, just to name a few. One thing I have never heard the Oscars referred to is nerdy or geeky.
Well, last night that all changed when fellow redhead Tilda Swinton won Best Actress for her role in Michael Clayton, also starring George Clooney. You probably know her from her roles in Constantine and The Chronicles of Narnia. She seemed thoroughly shocked at winning but pulled out quite the memorable acceptance speech.
Here it is in it’s entirety:
If you don’t want to bother watching, at about 1:23 she says, “And George Clooney, you know, the seriousness and the dedication to your art, seeing you climb into that rubber bat suit from Batman & Robin, the one with the nipples, every morning under your costume, on the set, off the set, hanging upside-down at lunch, you rock man.”
No Tilda Swinton, YOU rock.
