Are you ready for sexy time with your Wii?
I realize Wii remotes vibrate but I never thought of using my game console as a sex toy. That is, until game developer Ubisoft told me to.
Titled We Dare, this new game from Ubisoft for the Wii and Playstation 3 is raising more than just eyebrows. Via the YouTube summary of the trailer, “We Dare is a sexy, quirky, party game that offers a large variety of hilarious, innovative and physical, sometimes kinky, challenges. The more friends you invite to party, the spicier the play!” Take a look for yourself and see what’s in store when playing We Dare. I warn you now, this is incredibly awkward to watch.
I’m trying my best not to make this joke…oh, what the hell? Looks like Ubisoft is going to have to change it’s name to Ubihard pretty soon. AMIRITE?
I mean…good lord. I never thought I’d see the day when we’d have sex video games but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, adult board games have been around for years. Key features of We Dare include:
- A wide and varied range of over 35 fun and flirtatious mini-games
- Select the mood of your party
- Dance along to your favourite tunes
- Challenge your mates to a racy strip-tease
- Act out saucy suggestions that you hear through the Wii-mote speakers
- Play with up to 4 friends on Wii and 2 on PS3 Move
Oh but wait, it gets better, “Use the Wii-mote and PS3 Move controller in unbelievable ways, as you’ve never imagined before…wave it around to the beat of your favourite tunes, old and new…put it in your pocket and act-out flirtatious actions…balance it to navigate precarious challenges…sometimes co-operative hugging helps, and it certainly doesn’t hurt.”
Yeah, use the controllers in ways you’ve never imagined? Believe me, people HAVE imagined that and probably put it to the test already. “Put it in your pocket and act-out flirtatious actions?” Is that a Wiimote in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
As of right now, the game is set for a European only release on March 11, cuz us Americans are too uptight for this sort of thing. “This is an invitation to let yourself go, because life is short and what happens in this game… stays in the game!” You know, until the photos wind up on Facebook.
I remember seeing wiimotes turned into vibrators the week they were out. People didn't waste any time on that one. Still, for a party game? I'd try with enough scotch and good friends.
After finding out about anime rape video games back in 2008, in comparison this seems so… goofy. Though I must admit, those "actors" were not convincing me they were having a good time.
The way my love life is going this would probably be the closest I'll ever get to the real thing.
This is not the first sex video game. Just FYI.
It's just a) that genre trying to reach the mainstream by approaching Wii users, and b) that genre taking advantage of new technology by releasing a Wii game.
It's the swingers game for the digital age (a new age twister).
Mark = WIN
PURELL!
The only thing that keeps going through my brain is: DO NOT WANT. If you're so inclined, well. . . more power to you. I just cannot fathom this being, A. fun, B. Not incredibly awkward, and C. even if you're so inclined, why *this*? No, this is not something I'm interested in. I suppose it's good that it's not available in the US. Although, I'm anticipating Mii's Gone Wild clips on youtube in 3. . . 2. . . 1
