The Best Line in the Thor: Ragnarok Trailer Just Got Better
Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok has a lot of hype surrounding it thanks to Taika Waititi’s amazing humor and style but star Chris Hemsworth just revealed a secret about the best line from the trailer that makes it even better.
Remember the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, the first one that had us all screaming? (the SDCC trailer wasn’t too shabby either) It had style, it had epicness, and most of all it had humor. The consensus was “He’s a friend from work!” was the best line but as it turns out that line wasn’t written by Waititi or screenwriter Eric Pearson.
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly at Comic-Con International last month, Hemsworth revealed a really great story from set. “We had a young kid, a Make-A-Wish kid on set that day,” he told them, “and in between the takes I was talking with him and coming back and forth and he goes, ‘You know, you should say, “He’s a friend from work.'”
That’s amazing! For those who aren’t aware, Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization that helps put together “wishes” for kids 3-17 years of age with life-threatening medical conditions. I hope he gets a nice thank you in the credits. Or Mjölnir. Just give him Mjölnir.
Hemsworth didn’t give any more details about the event but Waititi went on to (probably) exaggerate and say 95% of the film has been improvised (he said 80% in another interview so let’s just go with “a lot”). Here’s the full interview with the cast, the story comes up around 5:40.
