Harry Potter Spinoff Prequel Sequel Gets a Title – Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

The David Yates directed film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will hit theaters November 16, 2018 and we’ve got our first look at the new cast.

There was a tease yesterday…

And a motion poster this morning…

Thankfully Pottermore gave us more info and the full image.

Left to right: Jude Law as Dumbledore, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, Claudia Kim as Maledictus, Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, and Johnny Depp as an asshole. Pottermore writes:

According to Warner Bros., in the new film Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) has escaped custody and will be seen gathering followers to his nefarious cause. This next film will also see Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) enlisted by Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) to try and stop him.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald takes place in New York, Paris and London, where we will see love and loyalties tested in this tumultuous time in the wizarding world.

They also reveal a new detail about Kim’s character Maledictus: she’s “someone who suffers from a ‘blood curse’ that turns them into a beast.” So…werewolf? Brontis Jodorowsky’s Nicolas Flamel is not in this cast shot and neither is the newly cast Jessica Williams.
