Hey, That’s My Cape! – Glee? I thought it was COMIC-Con!

My head hurts. Why? I just looked at the preliminary list of television shows making an appearance at this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego (CCI). You know, that show all about comics, sci-fi and video games? There are over ten titles that have nothing to do with any of those things.

We all know it’s been an issue for a while now. “Why is Hollywood invading my convention?!” But this year seems especially bad.

Show’s like Sons of Anarchy, White Collar and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia are all going to be making some sort of an appearance at CCI. Even Fox’s musical comedy-drama Glee is going to be there. I know fans of that show call themselves Gleeks but come on, this is getting ridiculous.

Read more of my thoughts in this week’s Hey, That’s My Cape! at Newsarama.

Yeah, it's pretty clear that the SD Con 'board' members are only after ticket sales, rather than comic book stuff, even though they'd fight tooth and nail to the contrary opinion.

But there are so many other comic book conventions nowadays that it's easy to get your fix if you want just comic books. :)

Glad I'm going in 2011 before it goes entirely Hollywood. They need PopCon or something for awesome tv shows. Because I'm all about good non sci-fi tv too, but I don't want it mixing with my BSG/Star Trek/Buffy and…comics!

The shark has now been jumped. Well, there is always Dragon Con.
