Realizing How Much We Needed Them, Marvel Released Not One, But TWO Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailers

Hitting theaters July 7, 2017 we finally have our first look at Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland. Jacob Batalan, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, and Zendaya will also feature along with Robert Downey Jr.

The first trailer is above! Marvel hasn’t posted it to their YouTube page, neither has Sony because Jimmy Kimmel Live got the exclusive reveal. But shortly after they also released an international trailer also. This one focuses more on the villain and less on Peter’s school life.

And in case you missed it, here was a tease they released earlier in the week with something a little different.

Looks like this is going to be a good one, though I didn’t really have any doubt about it. What are your thoughts?

  1. It somehow looks simultaneously too similar & too different from earlier Spider-Man films. As the Vulture, Michael Keaton threatens Spider-Man’s loved ones with all the disinterest he musters whilst disturbed in the middle of lunch by well-meaning Beetlejuice fans. How is the Vulture even a challenge to Spider-Man when he’s already pals with Iron Man? Marvel Studios will eventually do its take on Green Goblin, so why lessen his impact by starting off with bargain basement Green Goblin? https://mattthecatania.wordpress.com/2016/12/15/winter-must-break-you/

  2. WheelchairNinja says:

Love that last shot of Spidey and Iron Man! One question, though: if pressing on the spider-emblem makes the suit come off, what happens if a bad guy punches him square in the sternum? o_O

  3. I liked the trailer, but I’m super-pissed that they cribbed Ganke as “school-roommate in on the secret” from the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man. Changing his name to Ned Leeds does NOT make it all better.

    • I don’t even understand the cribbing. He’s wearing Ganke’s shirt, playing with Ganke’s Legos, fulfilling Ganke’s role in that story completely. Just call him Ganke.

      • Alan Izar says:

I read on tumblr that this is basically Miles Morales story given to Peter Parker.

        Which, if true, sucks.

        • I’m guessing it’s more like Ultimate Peter Parker’s plot line, with Tony Stark replacing Nick Fury’s role, but since we’re getting the Vulture all bets are off. It feels like a combination of so many different Spider-Mans rather than any one specific story…

That being said, if it’s about a poor kid getting into a charter school where he meets new bff not-Ganke and uncle robber, that would suck.

  4. Today is the second best day of the year.
