  1. Mr. Rush, you mean comics in general? Are there any specific heroes you like already? I can give you a better idea after that.

  2. Mr. Rush says:

I am somewhat new to this world. Where should I start?

  3. Randy says:

Y’know, a memory that I will treasure to my dying days is from when I was at the Mid-Ohio con one year. I want to say it was…1999 or 2000. They had this panel called Mid-Ohio Squares. It was a take-off on Hollywood Squares. I remember Mark Waid and Kurt Busiek were there. Probably Tony Isabella, bob Ingersoll and Roger Stern were there too.

Anyway, the questions asked were all about comic book-related stuff from the past, mostly Silver Age Dc and Marvel, since the majority of the panel were from the Big Two.

I didn’t miss a single question. And Mark Waid is notorious for asking tough stuff in things like this.

I was allowed to dig through this box of stuff they had for prizes. I picked a blue coffee mug that said, “I like my books thin, with lots of pictures.”

I still have the mug. One of the few things I’ve ever won in my life.

Doesn’t really have much to do with the topic, other than to show how much a geek I am.

I also remember Tellus as being a creature that communicated solely through telepathy. I remember they paired him off a lot with Lightning Lass and Magnetic Kid (Cosmic Boy’s younger brother) a bit as a sort of homage to the original three members of the LoSH. He also become a staunch supporter of the villainous Dark Circle in the Five Year Later stories, which some people tend to compare to the JLA Detroit era. I however happen to have a soft-spot for that era of LoSH. But then, there are also some JLA Detroit stories that I kinda/sorta like too.

  4. Yes you absolutely do!

No, I have not read any of the older Manhunter stories.

  5. Randy says:

Ummmmm, do I get extra-credit geek points for not needing to look up who Tellus was, from his appearance in that Guardian one-shot??

And have you ever read Goodwin and Simonson’s Manhunter stories? I highly recommend it, if you haven’t already.
