Hasten the Regeneration? The New Doctor Who Season 10 Trailer Leaves Little Doubt
Robots. Rivals. Regeneration? The BBC is teasing quite a bit here even though we know Peter Capaldi’s time on Doctor Who is nearing its end. Are we ready?
I just realized I’ve been writing a lot about Doctor Who lately! In case you missed it, Omaze is giving you a chance to have breakfast with seven Doctors and… new companion Bill is openly gay!
With the new season starting very soon, BBC (and BBC America) are ramping up their marketing. Here’s the latest:
This is the gateway to everything that ever was or ever can be. This is Doctor Who Season 10.
Get ready to have the time of your life with the Doctor, Bill, and Nardole Saturday, April 15th at 9/8c on BBC America followed by the premiere of the new spin-off, Class.
The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is an alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels through all of time and space in his TARDIS with his companion. Instead of dying, the Doctor is able to “regenerate” into a new body, taking on a new personality with each regeneration.
And if you didn’t cut out before the very end, you got this very familiar scene…
I really, really wish Capaldi had stayed at least one more season. I would have loved to see what a different showrunner could do with him. I’ll be sad to see him exit.
God, is it always so bittersweet? I wish one of the Doctors was chill about regeneration.
The First Doctor was fairly chill. The Second was annoyed, not sad, the Third seemed somewhat relieved. The Fouth was pretty zen, the Fifth rather noble… I could go on. LOL It’s the new guys who seem a bit melancholy, must be PTSD from the Time War. :)
The Ninth was both sad and elated.
