International Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer From Japan Puts a Greater Focus on Rey

Walt Disney Studios Japan has just released a new version of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. Prepare for more chills.

Last month director J.J. Abrams told Extra there would be TV spots but no more trailers for the film. Perhaps he forgot about the separate cut for the international audience or it was done without his approval (doubtful)? Either way, I can’t say I’m complaining.

This new version is less nostalgic (no Harrison Ford voice over or classic score), more of Daisy Ridley’s Rey (yessssssss) and action from the Dark Side. Let me know what you all think in the comments!

For comparison, here was the last full trailer we saw (which has over 56,224,874 views).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18.
