Have I finally “made it?”
It may not be Maxim or anything but…I’m a calendar girl!
You may remember, a few weeks ago, PanelsOnPages.com named me their Fangirl of the Month for December. Well, what I didn’t tell you then (but those who follow me on Twitter found out last week) was that they put together an AMAZING calendar of all their Fangirls this year! What are you waiting for? Check out the 2010 Fangirl of the Month Calendar, I guarantee you won’t find anything else like it.
Each lady was teamed with an artist, and if I do say so myself, the pairings were perfect. I was very excited when I checked out the deviantART page of my artist, Daniel Campos. Several of his female illustrations were pin-up style and were all gorgeous, not to mention his kick-ass comic book characters. I threw a few ideas Daniel’s way and let him take creative rein from there. You can view his artistic process at his own blog, Zombies Love Comics. I love what he finally decided on and he gets bonus points for calling me The Sixth Element.
Now that I’ve sufficiently wet your palate I bet you’d like to know how you can own one of these puppies and have your very own Nerdy Bird hanging up on your wall come this time next year, right? Just head to PoP’s Cafe Press store and you’re set! Thanks again to PoP and Daniel, I think the finished product looks absolutely fantastic. It’s a great addition to any geeks collection, whether it be for keeping track of the days or simple viewing pleasure. :)
Damn, I can't believe I never responded to any of these. I guess the fame has gone to my head already. :P
Seriously though, thank you all so much for your support. I hope you've all bought your calendars!! :)
Oh my gosh Mollie, I'm geeking out that he gave it to you. That's so cool!!
so i know this post is a little old but, i was working at my comic shop (i only work one day a week, but i work the best day, wednesdays!) and a guy came in and gave us the fan girl calendar. i geeked out because you were in it. so i just had to share my excitement of getting the calendar. ps i think your awesome!
Jill, you "made it" a long time ago. Congrats on this! And Campos really did do a great job of capturing both your likeness and your spirit.
Darling you look so great :D Amazing really cool congrats ^_^
Congrats, Jill, on being made into a Comic Book Calendar Girl. Since discovering your blog, I've been catching up on several of your older posts – you're a very talented writer (thoughtful, funny and appropriately nerdy).
You make me want to work harder at my own blog posts.
I look forward to reading more of your work.
Way to go, Jill! I must confess that I always wanted to see you dressed as Leeloo.
Very cool Jill!!! :)
You and the girls are awesome!
wow. sexy, cute, and nerdy all rolled into one… my favorite ^_^
Fishnets…. mmm…
That's awesome – and a nice piece of art to boot!
Niiiice. Gotts love the LeeLuu riding a scooter made of alien.
That is just every shade of coolness I could ever think of!! 2010 is shaping to be a banner year for you here.
That is one of the coolest things that I have ever seen. Good on ya girl. Well deserved.
